This is the city with 15 thousand inhabitants and today is one of the most popular <strong>touristic centers</strong> on the <strong>Croatian littoral</strong>. <strong>Makarska</strong> possess a 2 km long <strong>sandy beach</strong> with Mediterranean climate and <strong>promenades</strong> surrounded with a pine forest where are various <strong>touristic facilities</strong>, <strong>hotels</strong>, <strong>restaurants</strong> and plenty of fun for kids and adults. In the city you can find a <strong>main square</strong> where is placed the <strong>St. Marks' church</strong> and a waterfront that are always crowded with tourists. There is also a <strong>Francirean monastery</strong> that is 500 years old and keeps a public collection of paintings, a library and the unique collection of shells. On the coast you can find <strong>the City museum</strong> and a <strong>church of St. Filip</strong> and in the St. Peter's park is placed a <strong>church of St. Peter</strong> and a splendid view on the city, Biokovo and open sea.</p>
